Why did he ride ? He has qualified in Quali 1/Terenzano as reserve.

This should be Sergej Eroshin/RUS I think.

What about Mirko Wolter/D, shouldn't he ride there ?

Top 8 + 1 reserve from Gdansk, and top 7 + Alessandro Dalla Valle
(best finished Italian rider) + 1 reserve qualified for Continetal
final scheduled in Lonigo July 8th.

Meeting in Gdansk was marred with very bad weather starting in hot
over 93 F, with about two hours break due to rain and storm after heat
4 and finished after heat 16 when rain returns.

No major surprise as Poles set high pace for competition and finished
top 3 + 5 place for Wolverhamptons Adam Skornicki.

Unlucky Topinka after disputable exlusion in heat 3 when collided
with his compatriot Adrian Rymel and Darkin who felt when second in
heat 12.

Lucky Zoltan Adorjan after two duck eggs two wins which secured him
final place (where he will be main favourite again).

In true all riders give his best on track (Zlatko Krznaric rode with
broken hand) battling hard for final place some too hard.
And there was no crap riders in field even Gdansk rider Tihanyi who
scored null.
It was pity meeting was staged in that hard conditions.

Marcin

As replacement for injuried Robert Sawina.

Yes he was there and rode reasonably well but had engine failure when
second in his second outings (those 2 points should give him final
place).

Info for all you lucky persons who may have a few hours to spare on a lazy

as it has details about the soon to be released Speedway Grand Prix 2000

No doubt will appeal to some of the armchair Throttlejocks.

at Smallmead on Monday July 10th.

Don't know any of the names yet and it is still subject to confirmation but
it should please you Aus fans out there!

Yes, I can confirm that Soren Sjosten sadly died in early 1999 in his native
Sweden.

Although he was a brilliant rider, Soren's life went on a downwards spiral
from the mid-seventies. He suffered the death of his father, loss of
driving license through a drink-drive offence, divorce and the death of his
brother within a few years. I'm a little sorry to write this - Soren was a
boyhood hero of mine too.

Yes Soren did pass away, I think it was late last year. The way to
pronounce his name was something like Shsosten, j being silent. His small
stature made for an exciting riding style. What a lovely person he was and
it was a shame that his lifestyle deteriorated somewhat after being such a
wonderful speedway rider.

Not too sure about Soren but his brother Christer who mainly rode for Poole
in England plus a few matches for Wembley, Coatbridge and Exeter lost his
life in a racing accident at the Brisbane Exhibiton Grounds back in
1979-80.
