From: robert.hammond@bbc.co.uk To: "Internet Speedway Fan Club List"Subject: Mickey Mouse comes to Foxhall Heath - USA test match fiasco Date: Mon, 26 Jun 2000 12:07:35 +0100 Am I the only person who wasted time and money journeying to Ipswich for last Thursdays Test match. After 150 miles of travelling to Ipswich I found out from a local newsagent that the match had been called off at lunchtime on Thursday. Not a single notice or person at the Foxhall Heath circuit to tell anybody what was going on. Typical. It proves to me that Speedway still is a Mickey Mouse sport - proved by the team from where Mickey Mouse was born. I dont suppose anything will be done to the USA governing body for this shambles. The BSPA in my opinion seem pretty gutless when it comes to running the sport. Personally I would have the USA thrown out of the FIM and barred from all FIM team events for the disgraceful late cancellation of an official fixture. As for the Ipswich 'promotion' they could and should have done more at the track to publicise what had happened. It is definitely my last visit to any BSPA sponsored event Bob Hammond This e-mail, and any attachment, is confidential. I understand your annoyance (I'd be pissed off as well), but test matches are bi-laterally arranged between national federations and are nothing to do with the FIM. Kevin Meynell

TOMMY JANSSON He taking the most points from the back and was a very good sportsman. Your body was speed-Up when he was out on the track! The SPEEDWAY-WORLD stood still when He was gone for a long time. He left a big gap after him. Still in the moment NO rider like him in the world. Is there more than one? Home of which team, if any? Gubbangen is the track with Getingarna All-SWEDISH league as the team. Another track is Huddinge with Eldarna as the team and their are in the regional north. What is the status of this meeting? Is this Sweden's equivalent of the 'Internationale'? A big open meeting of the best available on the night around the world? This is SEFF-CHAMPIONSHIPS. We have this meeting for the first time for/including foreigners in the SWEDISH LEAGUE last year when Billy Hamill took the victory and Hans Nielsen say good-bye to the SWEDISH SPEEDWAY and He is the track-record-holder with 67,1! Is there big prize money and a prestigious title to go with it? Or just some trophy? YES! With a crowd in a minimal of 1500 people the first price is 15.000 SEK = around 1000 pounds! There are prize-money to 1-16 riders (all riders) Finally, what is the format? 20 heats - 5 rides each or a GP style (with top 5 I guess not) YUP! 20 heats and the TOP-five in a FINAL!!!!! My top five would be... CRUMP HANCOCK HAMILL GUSTAFSSON NAHLIN You have the same as Me, without Nahlin instead of Gunnestad:) Nice to see:) SZ But what would I know! :-)) Paul G Sydney From: STEPHEN ZETTERWALL Subject: Line-Up for tonights BIG CLASH INDIVIDUAL MEETING AT STOCKHOLM Hi all fans around the SPEEDWAY-WORLD! Now for the first = time ever the SCB has overruled them. It seams quite obsured when you = look at it from the point of view that the meeting was called off due to = one rider! Since when has one rider determind league fixture dates. = There are three other GP riders that would have been happy to ride on = that date. You can fully understand why the sport is in the state it's = in when BULLS**T like this goes on. Get rid of the BSPA give the SCB = less power. Appoint one person neutral to the sport, to run the whole = kit and caboodle.

It was an excellent team performance, Wayne Carter and Roman Povazhny followed up their reserve race maximum at Arlington with another 5-1 in heat 2, and Sam and Jesper doubled the lead in Heat 3. Congratulations to David Norris in that one, who made himself look a real pillock, falling at the back on the first lap and making no attempt to get up. The referee had no hesitation in awarding the 5-1 as Norris rode back to the derision of the crowd! Wolves never surrendered this lead as they answered everything Eastbourne threw at them. Dugard came in as T/S to join Screen in heat 6 but was kept at the back by Correy and Skornicki. Hurry came in to Heat 8 but Adam Skornicki produced a superb ride to beat Barker and Hurry - and treated the fans to another of his famous donut celebrations on the home straight! Last throw of the dice was a tactical in Heat 11 for Screen, but Nicki Pedersen produced an excellent ride to beat Dugard and Screen and effectively seal the win. For Wolves, the whole team were really fired up and aggressive. Nicki Pedersen in particular was on the ragged edge at times, and attacked the track all night. Ronnie was also VERY aggressive, and was missing the gate but charging past people on the inside constantly. Another excellent return from Adam - 7+1 from number 2, and he is turning into one of the signings of the season. He has made a great impression with the crowd who just love him! Sam and Jesper - both consistent, solid and effective - maybe overshadowed by others but fine points returns. Wayne seemed to grow in confidence with that Heat 2 win, and actually pushed Joe Screen all the way in Heat 11. Roman again rode hard for his points, and I'm amazed to look at the programme and see that he only scored 3+1. Eastbourne must have still fancied their chances coming into tonight as they are packed with Monmore specialists, but had no answer on the night. Dugard rode hard, Screen looked much more like his old self, but the others did very little. Norris was awful, Barker little better, Hurry only got going when the match was lost, and the reserves were very poor. What on earth has gone wrong with Kokko? But then again, who cares? Up the Wolves!
