Charlie Venegas wins the Main Event!

More good races at Cal Expo. The track was a little difficult for the first couple of races, but quickly settled down to enable some good races.

Other riders in this event were Kelly McBain, Howard Larson, Gary Hubbert, Billy Hiles, and Eric Ryan.

The race came to rather a peculiar end. From the end of the first lap, Billy Hiles took the lead, which he extended each lap. On the penultimate lap Eric Ryan fell on turn three and four, in the middle of the racing line and did not get up. On his way to what should have been an easy win, Billy Hiles was given a yellow flag before the corner, avoided Eric and his bike in the corner, but in changing direction from his racing line lost control and ended up in the wall. The race continued with the rest of the pack somehow missing Eric, and Billy giving Geno Bellino the win. I missed the rest of the finishing order.
