Speedway racing is held regularly in Ontario, Quebec and (in past years) British Columbia. In Ontario it can be seen on most Saturday nights during the summer at Niagara Motorcycle Raceway in Welland. Friday nights, the Paris Speedway, in Paris Ontario, will operate a number of races in 1998. Local fairgrounds in Ontario that have horse race tracks (Tillsonburg, Lemington, Barrie etc.) also include half mile (long track) speedway racing in their summer events. C.C. Speedway in Quebec is now cosed, but the new Alexis Speedway track will operate two major events in 2000, as well as some weekly racing. Anyone interested in watching, riding or even promoting the sport can contact the Canadian Speedway Racing Association for further information at (905)-646-5642 or Niagara Motorcycle Raceway at (905)-734-7058. See the list of 1997-8 race events and 1996 race results.
Eagle's Nest Raceway (prevoiusly only motocross) has now added a speedway track. It ran several events in 1997 and is open for practice.
