Hi Stephen
What an enormous loss to speedway. A beautiful life cut short. It just
isn't fair, is it. Not only was he a great rider, but a total professional
at all times and one of the lovliest young men you could ever meet.

Unfortunately I never saw Soren ride.
The best rider of my time without any shadow of a doubt is IVAN Mauger.

Subject: RE: KLynn vs Ipswich KOC
Date: Wed, 28 Jun 2000 11:24:45 +0100
With regards to the June 28th date, the SCB ruling is based on the rules
and when a fixture is not officially logged, there has to be agreement
between both sides that the date is acceptable - irrespective of the
reason. You could argue that Lynn chose this date to force Ipswich to
ride without Gollob to give them more of a chance?!At no time has
Tomasz refused to ride on that date but understandably, as he is just
about the biggest sports star in Poland, there is a lot of pressure for
him to spend some time at home before the GP - and I'm sure he wants to
as well and I can't say I blame him. There is no point in arguing about
this one now but changes could be made for the future to prevent
BSPA/SCB rulings being sought in the first place.
Just to add my thoughts on the GPs in general: It is becoming
increasingly frustrating for fans (and non GP riders) that there are so
many weeks where no meetings are staged because of the Grand Prix and
I'm sure attendances at Ipswich have suffered as a result. With the
expansion of the GPs being planned, we will either have to forget GP
riders riding in regular Elite league racing or only have a season
during March, April & October - when it's cold for fans & eventually
nobody attends.
Cheers Karl
