Subject: Fw: The Joe Screen Show
Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2000 23:27:28 +0100

Ha Ha Joe Screen, what a nincompoop you made of yourself tonight at Ipswich.

My cabbage got really excited, sitting on it's beach chair watching you get
all grizzly because you couldn't overtake Nigel Sadler. Nice response,
pulling out his throttle cable on the back straight after the race had
finished ...

Still, the last laugh was on Screen with a majestic Golden Double Testicle
ride: 1 point, doubled-up to TWO.

Ipswich Select 58 Eastbourne 32 - what a stupid result - Deadbeets will be
throwing beer glasses everywhere now.

15-2 after three heats! Kokko ef while leading heat 2, and Collyer already
excluded for demolishing the fence in the first attempt.

Heat 3 was funny, with Shaun Tacey (in as a guest for the ill Svab) and
Ferjan getting a 5-1 over R/R Screen.

Heat 4, and Screen takes advantage of Gollob's inability to ride the fourth
bend, and passes the Pole to record a heat win.

Heat 6 and Sadler rides superbly to block Screen, who is not at all happy,
but no-one can understand why, as Sadler didn't do anything wrong.

Heat 9 5-1 by Screen and Norris over Ferjan & Tacey makes it 31-22 to
Ipswich, but that's the end for the Eagles, as the Witches finished with 6
consecutive heat advantages including the "controversial" Heat 12.

Heat 11: Doncaster dumps Dugard high and wide, allowing Louis to get away.
Dugard repeats the move on Doncaster next time round, and Barker slips
through to third as well. Doncaster re-passes Barker! Historians were
going to their archives.

heat 12: Screen in as GDTS and Norris is outgated by Tacey & Sadler. Screen
wedges past Norris, and tries an outside move on Sadler, who yet again has
the answer and blocks him. Finally Norris spots a gap on the inside of the
second bend, and draws alongside before causing Sadler's fall on the third
bend - quite a heavy crash, taking down a couple of sections of fence.
Norris excluded, much to the delight of the crowd - I even saw some Ipswich
fans clapping!

In the rerun, Screen only manages a lap before his bike slows. he reached
down to fiddle with something (not sure what) and he got going again, but it
was only to great appreciation from the home fans :-)

Louis 2+ 3 3 2+ 3 13+2 (didn't realise till just now, he scored a max!)
Bunyan (R/R) (9+1)
Tacey (G) 3 2 0 3 8
Ferjan 2+ 0 3 1 3 9+1
Gollob 2 2 3 3 2+ 12+1
Doncaster 3 2+ 0 1 1 7+1
Sadler (G) 3 1+ 2+ 0 1 2+ 9+3

Dugard 1 3 3 2 1 10
Barker 0 1 1+ 2 4+1
Norris 0 1 3 2 X 0 6
Hurry (R/R) (6)
Screen 1 3 1 2+ 2* 0 1 10+1 (* is GDTS)
Kokko R 0 2 0 2
Collyer Fx 0 0 0

Witches inspired by the guests, and !!!!**** Jason Bunyan ****!!!! The man
of the moment actually took time to come to find me, and say hello - it was
good to meet you, and great to see you up and about. Also, a good reception
from the home fans when Jason went out to the centre green.

I was not impressed by the choice of Tacey ("cheap & local" :-)) but he rode
well. Sadler was excellent value, and did the sort of job that a fully fit
Lol Hare would have done during the season - but it's clear now that
Lawrence has never been fully fit all season. He really shouldn't keep
pushing himself and getting set back by the knocks and bangs that most
riders suffer, and I hope he's sensible enough to take a break for a while
now.

Eastbourne were a shambles, reminiscent of the Ipswich team last week ...

Dugard tried hard, but that was it. Screen made an arse of himself, which
was the most entertaining part of the whole night.

My cabbage was taken home by an owner of four rabbits, so will meet a useful
end.

Cheers,
Dave Love

Subject: Polish rules ?
Date: Thu, 20 Jul 2000 23:39:48 +0200

Hi all

I was wondering......

What kind of rules are being used in the Polish League ?

This week-end is the last round of the Polish Extraleague before the play-offs and
from the table at Marcin`s pages this what I can find out:

Bydgoszcz and Pila are ready for the top half play-off with respectively 19 and 15
points.
The two other teams will be decided this week-end.

Since Rune Holta is riding for Czestochowa I am most interested in this club. As fas
as I can figure out Czestochowa can still make the top half play-off if they win
against Leszno this week-end and if either Gorzow or Torun lose their matches. The
same can Lezno if they win against Czestochowa.

So what are the rules ? If Czestochowa wins by 2 points and Torun loses by 2 points
Czestochowa will have -14 riders point and Torun -16. Will then Czestochowa be in the
top-half play off ?
OR
Earlier this year Torun beat Czestochowa 52-40 and Czestochowa beat Torun 50-40 which
leaves and overall score of 92-88 in Toruns favor. Will this then decide which team
will be in the top four run-off ?

What about the bottom half ? Every team seems to do everything to avoid the
wooden-spoon (last place) on the table. Why ?

See ya

Subject: Fox Sports Elite League Telecasts (August)
Date: Fri, 21 Jul 2000 07:43:09 +1000

This message is mainly for the benefit of Australian Based people.

My Fox guide for August arrived yesterday and there are 3 scheduled
telecasts of Elite League during August.

They are all on Friday Nights at 7:30pm.

The dates are August 4, 11 and 18.

There are still 2 telecasts scheduled for July. They are Monday 24/7 at
11:30pm, and Friday 28th at 8:30pm.

The one scheduled for earlier in July did not take place because of a re
scheduling of a Rugby Test. No sign of any Rugby this time.
