6 time US Open Champion. His racing began with amateur racing from 1969 to 1975. He held a MX pro license from 1975 to 1979. He promoted Mathias Raceway from 1980 to 1983. From 1984 to 1985 he raced speedway in Indiana, Ohio, and New York full time. He then moved on to California, and raced there full time until 1990, when he returned to Ohio and began promoting Bear Creek Speedway, and continue racing Indiana, New York and Canada. He was involved in an accident in an early 1997 exhibition event, and broke his leg. See Pat Reynolds for his recollections of the event.
