Ryan Fisher capped an exciting evening of racing with a sensational performance en route to victory in the main event at Industry Hills Speedway.
Charlie Venegas, the previous week's winner, led the main event at the outset, but Fisher immediately went to work on the outside. Fisher was alongside the leader as they exited turn four and edged ahead at the completion of lap one. As the pair raced down the back straight the second time Fisher was able to drop down to the inside to better protect his lead. The former Youth National Champion didn't make a mistake and led all the way to the finish. Venegas finished second, Shawn McConnell was third, and Tommy Hedden finished fourth.
Venegas began the first of three rounds of heats by trapping from the outside and leading McConnell all the way to the finish. Shaun Harmatiuk was the initial leader in the next race, but was passed on the outside first by Eddie Castro and then by Fisher with Castro taking the win. Gary Hicks held off Dukie Ermolenko in the next race. Bryan Yarrow beat Bobby Krips in race 11. Buck Blair brought the curtain down on round one with a win over Hedden.
Round two began on a sour note with Ermolenko finding traction before hitting the turn four fence and leaving Bobby Krips no escape route. Krips laid his machine down as quickly as possible, but still collected the prone rider. Ermolenko was carried off by a stretcher, but was later gingerly walking around.
On the restart, Castro had bike problems at the line and Brad Sauer defeated Krips in what amounted to a match race. Venegas scored his second win by beating Buck Blair. McConnell won an excellent side-by-side battle with Fisher in race 20. Despite Harmatiuk's best effort on the outside, Hedden emerged as the victor of the next race. Hicks led the final race of the second round for two laps before being overtaken and defeated by an excellent outside pass by Yarrow.
Yarrow began the final round with his third straight victory. Venegas matched Yarrow's perfect score with a win over Krips. McConnell and Hedden waged a classic inside-outside battle for four laps in race 26 with Hedden inching ahead just before the checkered flag. Castro scored his second victory by beating Blair in the next race. The heats drew to a close with Fisher scoring his first win.
It was Venegas jumping in front of the first semi, but Hedden used the grippy outside line to his advantage and passed Venegas on lap two and pulled away for the victory. The second semi saw Fisher leading from start to finish while McConnell had to fight off the outside challenge of Yarrow to secure his spot in the main.
Eloy Medellin used gate one to grab the lead in the Second Division Main. Rudy Laurer immediately went to the outside in an effort to prevent Medellin's second straight main event win. The two veteran riders battled wheel-to-wheel before Laurer finally was able to secure the lead on the third lap. Once in the lead, Laurer never bobbled and was first to the checkered flag. Medellin finished second, Michael Hernandez was third, and Bryan Buffington finished fourth.
Tim Cochren led the Third Division Main before Steve Bowen took the lead in turn three. Bowen held the lead until the final lap when Cochren's pressure forced him wide and also relinquish the lead. Cochren, a former youth rider, back in speedway after more than a decade away, held on for the victory. Bowen recovered in time to finish second, Sam Stavros finished third, and Mike Lane was fourth.
Krystal Cramer won the Youth Main Event for the second straight week ahead of Phillip Harmatiuk, Russell Green, and Joey Holt. Braydan Galvin beat Elijah Hicks in the Pee Wee Main Event.
