Defending Track Champion Charlie "The Edge" Venegas took home his second main event victory of the year at Industry Speedway.
Venegas earned first choice in the main event and selected the pole. He was first off the line and led the field into turn one. Venegas pulled further ahead exiting turn two with Jimmy Fishback giving chase in second. Fishback soon found his hands full with Ricky Wells from behind and had to fight to defend his position. While the two former Youth National Champions battled for the runnerup spot, Venegas pulled away for a comfortable victory. Fishback was able to keep Wells at bay and the fifteen year old had to settle for third with Buck Blair coming in fourth.
The first of three rounds of heats began with Dale Facchini defeating Fishback. Bobby Schwartz held off Gary Hicks to win the next heat. Venegas was leading his first heat, but went wide and handed the lead and victory to Wells. Blair finished the first round with his first win.
The second round started with Fishback beating Blair for his first win. Venegas beat Facchini for his first win in the next race. Shawn McConnell beat Schwartz in race 21. Shaun Harmatiuk beat Wells to conclude round two.
Round three began with McConnell winning his second straight race. Fishback used the outside to power around Harmatiuk for the win. Blair beat Facchini for his second win of the evening. Venegas defeated Schwartz to win the final heat race.
The first semi began with a tight first corner and Facchini finding too much traction and lifting into the fence. Facchini was able to get up after a couple minutes and make the restart, but would do so from the penalty line. Fishback led the restart, but Blair took down McConnell on the exit of turn four and brought out the red flag. Blair was penalized and McConnell was unable to make the restart. Fishback was an easy winner after being spotted 20 yards and Blair held off Facchini to join Fishback in the main.
Venegas led the second semi and was followed by Schwartz. Venegas won and it looked as if Schwartz would join him, but he shed both chains just yards shy of the finish line and went down. Wells, in third place, had nowhere to go and plowed into Schwartz and went down hard. Both riders were able to get up. Venegas was awarded the victory and Wells was credited second due to the exclusion of Schwartz.
Bryan Buffington led from start to finish to win the Second Division Main Event for the second time this season. Kenny Hansen finished second, Billy Braden was third, and Rudy Laurer finished fourth.
Jim Painter led all four laps and took home his first Third Division Main Event victory. Robert Glamuzina finished second, Airimis Santana was third, and Lance Remington finished fourth.
Jason Ramirez was dominant in winning both of his heats and the Youth First Division Main Event. Joey Holt finished second, Russell Green was third, and Brad Pappalardo finished fourth.
Richard Crocker held off Braydan Galvin to claim the victory in the Youth Second Division Main Event. Rocco Scopellite finished third.
The team of Dan Jones and Matt Davis won the first Sidecar Main Event held in California this season. Brian Motis and Chris Coniglio finished second and Joe Jones and Jimmy Olsen were third.
