Former World Champion Billy "The Bullet" Hamill returned to his native San Gabriel Valley in grand style with a main event victory to comlete a perfect night at Industry Speedway.
Current Industry points leader Charlie "The Edge" Venegas got the best start and moved up the race track to the dirt line in an effort to block Hamill and gain traction. The move worked temporarily, but Hamill stormed up the inside of Venegas on the back straight and snatched the lead as they entered turn three. Venegas tried valiantly to catch Hamill, but the 1996 World Champion pulled away with each lap and was first to the checkered flag. Venegas was second, Ricky Wells finished third, and Neil Facchini was fourth.
Buck Blair began the evening with a victory over Dale Facchini. Hamill acclimated himself quickly and beat Wells for his first win. Bobby Schwartz was an easy winner in the next heat. Venegas closed out the first round with a win over Shawn McConnell.
McConnell began the second round by holding off Neil Facchini for the win. Wells beat Robbie Sauer to win race nineteen. Hamill defeated Blair for his second straight win. Venegas ended round two with his second win.
Hamill started the final round with his third consecutive victory. Venegas matched Hamill's perfect score by beating Wells in a fierce battle that the fans thoroughly enjoyed. Neil Facchini scored an impressive victory over Blair and Schwartz in race 28. Jimmy Fishback beat Sauer in the last heat. Dale Facchini and Schwartz finished one-two in a runoff to fill the final two semi spots.
Venegas led the first semi before hitting a hole in turn three and handing the lead to Neil Facchini. Venegas battled back on the outside to retake the lead and led Facchini to the checkered and into the main.
Hamill got the best start in the second semi, but found too much traction in turn two, lifted, bounced off the fence, pulled out an amazing save, and still held onto the lead. Hamill's heroics forced Schwartz to slow dramatically which allowed Wells to take second. Hamill then ran away with the win, but Wells lifted in the final corner and crossed the finish line while brushing the fence with the right side of his body. The fifteen year old fell awkwardly and was remained on the ground wih an injured right arm. Wells was able to walk off the track, but was nursing his arm.
Billy Lyons and Troy McConnell battled side-by-side for the lead in the Second Division Main, but McConnell made the outside work and took the lead at the end of lap one. McConnell never turned a wheel wrong from there and captured the win in his first event at Industry in 2007. Lyons settled for second, Bryan Buffington was third, and Rick Valdez finished fourth.
Ralph Chudy rode four smooth laps and was victorious in the Third Division Main Event. Jim Painter finished second, Airimis Santana was third, Toni Hicks finished fourth, Lance Remington was fifth, and Fred Remington finished sixth.
Gino Manzares made a great start from the outside and scored an impressive win in the Youth First Division Main Event. Russell Green finished second, Brad Papplardo was third, and Joey Holt finished fourth.
Rocco Scopellite led all four laps to win his first Youth Second Division Main of 2007. Braydan Galvin was second, Richard Crocker finished third, and Major Davis was fourth.
Joe Jones and Jimmy Olsen were leading the Sidecar Main when mechanical problems forced them to pull off the track and hand the victory to Neil Facchini and Danny Baker. Brian Motis and Chris Coniglio finished second.
