Janniro again on Top at Fast Friday’s

Billy Janniro, the 2008 AMA/USA National Speedway Champion continued his winning ways picking up another Scratch Main Event win June 26th at Fast Friday’s in Auburn Ca. Winning both his scratch heat races, Janniro lined up in lane one in the main against Chad Felicio in lane two, Kenny Ingalls in lane three, and Bryce Starks on the outside in lane four. Janniro beat all riders to the corner grabbing the inside lane and never looking back. Janniro has been fine-tuning his bikes and looks to have found the winning combination. Friday’s win is three in a row for Janniro and his fourth for the season. Janniro has also been in every Scratch Main Event of the season at Fast Friday’s Gold Country Fairgrounds track, missing only one week when he was unable to race.
The handicap program brought a surprising finish as young rider Bryce Starks, of Auburn Ca., who seems to have turned his racing career up a notch or two. Starks, in his fifth season racing at Fast Friday’s, put it all together and won the Handicap Main Event Friday night. Starks was perfect in the handicap program from the ten-yard line, wining all his handicap heat races. “When I first started racing I was always to high strung, all I knew was wide open,” said a happy Bryce Starks after Friday night’s action. I’ve figured out my throttle control and have the bike all lined up and it seems to be working.” Starks has earned himself another 10 yards and will be lining up on the twenty-yard line next week.
Billy Janniro, who beat Kenny Ingalls in an exciting final two-lap run-off, won the Challenge Elimination Series round three. Going head to head Ingalls nearly pulled off an upset with a late charge just behind Janniro by just inches at the finish line. Also in the elimination races were Greg Hooten, Alex Marcucci, and Bryan Yarrow. All five round winners will race in the Challenge Elimination Championship on September 4th at Fast Friday’s.
Tyler Kane picked up his first Division 1 Youth Main Event of the season Friday night. Kane beat Thomas Reich, and Cody Ciciarelli in night’s youth finale.
