Gino Manzares and Shaun Harmatiuk went home victorious on Harley Night at Inland Motorsports Speedway in San Bernardino.
Manzares started alongside Josh Abbott at the front of the eight-rider field in the Handicap Main. The first start ended in the first corner when Neil Facchini and Brad Sauer had a clash which left Sauer on the ground. Manzares gained the advantage over Abbott on the second start and held a comfortable lead while Jimmy Fishback and Shawn McConnell made their way through the pack. Abbott went down near the end of lap five and the red flag came out when it became apparent that he couldn’t safely leave the track. Manzares started at the front for the staggered restart but had Fishback breathing down his neck. Fishback applied heavy pressure over the final three laps, but the teenager was unfazed and crossed the finish line first. Fishback settled for second, McConnell finished third, Jason Ramirez was fourth, Facchini finished fifth, and Sauer was sixth.
McConnell and Harmatiuk gated together in the Scratch Main and they were side-by-side throughout the first lap with McConnell on the inside and Harmatiuk on the outside. Harmatiuk found more traction the second time they went down the back straight and pulled down in front of McConnell to secure the lead. McConnell remained close but couldn’t force a mistake. Harmatiuk was the winner, McConnell finished second, Fishback was third, Tyson Burmeister finished fourth, and Bobby Schwartz was fifth.
Fourth-generation speedway racer Kyle Hicks took the early lead in the Second Division Main Event but was under fire from Rick Valdez. Valdez hounded Hicks the first four laps before relinquishing second to Joey Holt. Holt chased Hicks over the final lap but couldn’t get by. Hicks was first to the checkered flag, Holt was second, Valdez finished third, Rohn Zellner was fourth, and Butch Waymire finished fifth.
Norman Graham led all four laps and collected a convincing win in the Third Division Main Event. John Pavia finished second and Chris Thomas was third.
Jacob Wondolowski led the Youth Main Event before Samuel Ramirez used the outside to take the lead at the end of lap one. Ramirez was still the leader on the third lap when he experienced mechanical troubles and handed the lead over to Nicky Reimer. Reimer led the rest of the way to claim the victory. Maxwell Ruml finished second, Wondolowski was third, and Ramirez was credited with fourth.
Wondolowski and Reimer engaged in a fantastic handlebar-to-handlebar battle for three laps in the Pee Wee First Division Main Event before Wondolowski surged ahead on the final lap to get the win. Reimer settled for second, Brian Pintar was third, and William Ballesteros finished fourth.
Tristan Pickard started back in turn three but was undeterred en route to victory in the Pee Wee Second Division Main Event. Hanna Smith finished second and Jimmy Fishback IV was third.
