November 6, 2010 - Perris Raceway

Recently crowned National Champion Billy "The Kid" Janniro captured the main event to cap a perfect night in his debut at the new Perris Raceway speedway facility.
Janniro's perfect score afforded him the opportunity to pick his gate position first and he selected gate one. Tommy Hedden then picked gate four, Tyson Burmeister chose gate two, which left Austin Novratil with gate three.
Janniro exploded into the lead when the tapes went up while his MXRC teammates Burmeister and Hedden clashed in turn one. They pushed each other wide and Novratil utilized a deft cutback move to grab second as he exited turn two. The teenager chased after the leader but Janniro wasn't feeling as charitable as his teammates. The former member of the Coventry Bees in the British Elite League stretched his lead with each lap and was first to the checkered flag. Novratil finished second, Burmeister was third, and Hedden finished fourth.
Burmeister kicked off the heats with a victory over Steve Russell. Hedden beat Jason Ramirez in the second heat. Janniro was awarded the victory in the third heat after Gino Manzares tumbled in turn four.
Hedden started round two with a win over Russell Green. Janniro had a big lead in the next heat and was awarded another victory when Michael Raines went down and collected Ramirez in the process. Burmeister ended the second round with a win over Novratil.
Attrition led the final round being reduced to two heats. Novratil beat Hedden and Russell to open the round. Burmeister led Janniro for a lap before being overhauled on the second lap and Janniro ended the heats with a perfect score.
Novratil defeated Raines, Green, and Russell in the Last Chance to join Janniro, Burmeister, and Hedden in the main.
Rocco Scopellite and Rudy Laurer entered turn one side-by-side in the Second Division Main Event but the teenager found more traction on the exit of turn two and took the lead on the back straight. It would prove to be the only challenge to the lead as Scopellite, who won all three of his heats, scored a runaway victory. Laurer finished second, Johnny Lupo was third, and Rohn Zellner finished fourth.
Gene Stone entered the Third Division Main Event with a perfect score, but damaged his chances when he was penalized for touching the tapes. Todd Silicato got the best start and opened up a large lead and led every lap en route to victory. Tony DeAlmeida narrowly beat Ralph Chudy to the finish line for second and a disappointed Stone was fourth.
Hayley Perrault led the Youth Second Division Main Event through the first corner but Broc Nicol used the outside in turns three and four to power around her for the lead. Nicol only showed his competitors his heels from there and romped to victory. Perrault held on for second and Dillon Ruml was third.
Sebastian Palmese started in the back but he weaved through his competition and won the Pee Wee Main Event. Toby D'Avignon finished second and Tristan Britt was third.
This marked the second speedway event at the new Perris Raceway oval held by Carrie Hancock Speedway Promotions. The next speedway event will be on Saturday, December 11 and will a First Division-only event and have a championship format. 1997 World Champion and eight-time U.S. National Champion Greg Hancock has confirmed that he will be competing.
