2010 Sidecar National Round 2 / Speedway Billy Memorial

Joe Jones and Jimmy Olsen won the A Final to successfully complete their bid to win their fourth consecutive Sidecar National Championship at the Speedway Billy Memorial at Wheel2Wheel Raceway in Victorville.

Jones and Olsen entered the main event with the championship clinched, but they were determined to end their season in style. Bryan Motis and Brandi McElroy, who defeated Jones and Olsen earlier in the evening, made the best start, though, and were hoping to give the champs something to think about for next season. Motis and McElroy led the first lap before Jones and Olsen charged up the inside to take the lead. Motis and McElroy tried to make the outside work but they couldn't get return the favor on the leaders. Jones and Olsen led to the finish line, Motis and McElroy had to settle for second, Kevin Brown and Trevor DeSherlia were third, and Gerard Jackson and Dave German finished fourth.

Motis and McElroy finished second overall in the National Championship Series with Jackson and German finishing third, and Brown and DeSherlia finishing fourth overall.

Buck Blair entered the First Division Main Event undefeated despite having to start from the 20 yard line in three of his four heat races because of the earned-handicap format. With his competitors lined up next to him, Blair would be the odds-on favorite. However, Michael Raines made the best start and led into turn one. Blair, who had chosen gate four, put the high-banked outside to good use and went around Raines as they exited turn two. As Blair races off into the sunset Raines had his hands full with Eddie Castro. Castro pestered his younger rival until he was able to get by but it was too late to catch the leader. Blair was first to the checkered flag, Castro finished second, Raines was third, and Russell Green finished fourth.

Bander Alexander led from start to finish and captured the Support Main Event. Tony DeAlmeida finished second, Jake Myers finished third, and Kevin Johnson was fourth.

Pedro Concepcion was victorious in the Pee Wee Main Event with Summer Fehrman finishing second and Dakota Shockley getting third.

The Speedway Billy Memorial honored "Speedway Billy" Huspek a long-time dedicated speedway fan who was a fixture at Southern California speedway events and had become very popular with the competitors. Huspek passed away last year and was also honored at Inland Motorcycle Speedway in San Bernardino earlier this season.

The event marked the end of the 2010 season at Wheel2Wheel Raceway. Their 2011 schedule has not been finalized yet, but is expected to begin in March.
