Warren Diem wins the Main Event!
Warren Diem will be returning to Auburn in September to contest the AMA
Nationals.
It was an interesting night to say the least. Mother Nature played a cruel
trick on us last week. In the midst of one of the worst droughts and on one
of the hottest days in northeast history, she decided to give us some much
needed rain, at 6:10 pm on race night! We got about a half hour of pouring
rain and the track looked like a pond.
Luckily because of the recent hot dry weather the track could absorb a lot
of extra moisture but it still had to be pumped off and graded to make it
rideable. The decision to go ahead with the event was not made until 8:00 pm
so we did not get under way until 9:00pm!
While I can't go into too much detail because I am getting ready for work,
the night's racing definitely separated the men from the boys (just call me
Timmy).
In the main, Tommy Sephton gave Warren a good run for his money for about
two laps, running the EXTREMELY HEAVY dirt on the outside, but 15 year-old Cam Rafferty was able to second place away from Sephton.
