2018 Speedway New and ViewsPatrick "Tumbleweed" Walton Celebration of life March 3, 2018'Tumbleweed' Walton Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Friend, Neighbor, Comedian, Home Depo Enthusiast, Speedway Legend, Foodie, Singer and Songwriter, Patrick "Tumbleweed" Walton would have been proud of the service held in his honor Saturday. A gathering of friends and loved ones, playing music, telling stories and singing praise. Standing together, sharing his life and sharing his loss. Cold and rain were no deterrent, the Crosslight Family Ministries church nave was filled to capacity with a large overflow crowd in the hallway. A shrine near the entry was filled with pictures and mementoes of a life well lived. A lone Speedway program one of the few hints into the man the racer community called "Tumbleweed." Reverend Terry Henderson officiated the two and a half hour service. He along with the family and others told of a devoted husband, and loving father. They shared that Patrick loved music and ran the church audio system. They told of his humor and Home Depo addiction. Bailey, Emily and Paisley Walton sang a song that Patrick had written as did son Ryan Walton. It was a moving ceremony. A reception followed at the Goldy S. Lewis Community Center. It was nice to see a few from the racing/speedway community there. Meeting afterward with Paul Flanders, Dubb Ferrel, Stu Egli, Joey Donaldson, Jessie DuBois, Mike Maely, Trailblazers Judy Whitson and Rob Morrison we all marveled at 'Tumbleweed' talents and accomplishments and the many sides of Patrick Walton we did not know.
