Jeff Orosz - Wins the MAIN and the HANDICAP

The meeting started very slowly with all sorts of delays before the first heat was completed. It took four attempts to get it run. Two restarts were due to starting gate problems and more delays arose due to bike problems and bruised riders when Joe Heye looped as he left the gate and then a hard dive into the turn by Bogden Muszynski saw both he and John Mercier on the deck. However when things did get moving the result was an entertaining night's racing on a track which provided both a smooth surface and an outside racing line.

The handicap heats provided the most exciting races with John Dmytrow featuring in two tight finishes. In his heat he had to give way to Andy Harris and the hard charging Jeff Orosz, but he held on onto the final qualifying spot by holding off Fred Legault by inches on the line. So close was it that Legault passed him only a few feet after the flag. The final was even better. Dmytrow led from the gate. Harris and Orosz again came through the field with Orosz using the outside of the track to edge into second place by lap three. So tight was the race that when Orosz's attempt to get the lead on the next lap was balked he found himself back behind Harris in third spot. More full throttle riding saw him pass Harris on the fifth lap and a final last lap blast around the outside of turns three and four saw him catch and pass Dmytrow on the run in to the line and take the checkered flag by half a wheel. Great entertainment much appreciated by the fans!

Orosz completed a successful night by dominating his scratch races and winning the main to complete the double. Andy Harris looked sharp all night and took second spot ahead of John Mercier. Last week's double winner Joe Heye suffered all night from clutch problems and wasn't in the picture. Gary Hesmer won the Consolation final when Bogden Muszynski's motor failed on the final bend and he could only watch helplessly as Hesmer sped past.

Jeremy Musson was back in form and took D2 honors again. He recovered from a first heat disqualification when he got out of shape and rode onto the center green just before the finishing line, to win his next three races and edge out Byron Ambo for top spot. In D3 Kyle Legault continued his domination despite having to come from the penalty line to do so. He slid off while leading on the first lap which cost him ten yards on the restart. He picked off a rival per lap sweeping around Aaron DeVeau on the third lap to score another impressive win. Kyle Dixon won the D3 consolation ahead of a spirited battle between newcomers Derek Knight and Craig Trendell.
