BatteriesPlus Nite
July 2, 2005 - Carson City Raceway @ Fuji Park Speedway
By Gary Roberts

Carson City Raceway staged their third meeting last night which had by far the best rider turn out, and the biggest crowd so far. The weather was hot and the track, although a bit bumpy in places, provided a number of racing lines which resulted in some very good racing.

A great race. Tommy Hedden used an outside line which enabled him to catch early leader Bart Bast and pass him on the last lap. Bobby Hedden got a bad start, but took third from Chris Kerr when he retired on the third lap.

I got a very positive feeling from this meeting. The riders all enjoyed the track, despite its less than perfect surface. Since the track is used for other purposes during the week, there is a very limited window to prepare the race surface. The promoter is looking seriously at finding a permanent home for Speedway in Carson City next season.
