SPONSORS
Chris is sponsored by his father, Robert Slabon, who had raced one season in Britain in East Bourn, and was in the World Final.
Also to his credit was two time final Golden Helmet and 2 time second place in Poland.
" - a real character - I seem to remember his season
being cut short by a large hole at the Shay, Halifax. He was a real go-getter."
- Malcolm
Father Robert stopped racing in Canada due to a severe accident at C.C. Speedway in Quebec in 1994.

dated Sept. 1, 1998.
Chris had never raced in Canada until the 1997 season. He went to school here, but preferred to race in Poland during the summer
season and had been driving mini-speedway in a team in Gettingarna. He quickly moved to the top of Division One when he started racing here in 1997,
finishing third in the Canadian National Championships.
Other 1997 achievements:
Two Division One wins at Paris, a second at the Eagle's Nest Championships, and a third in the Paris Speedway Championships.
