It is with a heavy heart I convey the passing our Hero and Speedway Legend Harlan Bast Sr.
Harlan passed away peacefully this morning at home with his wife Sherry by his side.
Please keep the Bast Family in your Thoughts and Prayers during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be announced sometime in the next few weeks.

June 17, 2022, Before the racing began Friday night Harlan Bast was presented with a beautiful plaque as his family and all the racers from the pits gathered around a great gentleman who has meant so much to this family of motorcycle enthusiasts. It was a fitting and emotional tribute for a man who has helped so many and led by example. Bast has been an Auburn resident since 1976 moving here and opening Bast Brothers Welding with his brother Homer Bast. Michael Kirby

Harlan Bast finished first in the Division III season point's race.
Bast finished just 31 points ahead of second place finisher John Peters.
The 77 year-old Bast will also race for the Division III track championship September 6, 2013

August 13, 2010 - Auburn’s Harlan Bast had the Fast Friday’s crowd on their feet
as he won his Division II heat race and transferred into the Division II main event.
